Dee Sada has always intrigued me; from her primal beginnings in all girl trio ‘An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump’ to the shoegaze ambitions of ‘Blue On Blue’, a collaborative project with Billy Steiger. Now offering something more stripped back but still artfully fashioned, Bells and Ships and Songs doesn’t feel crafted for an audience, but for herself… trembling into life with it’s confessional approach. Taken from forthcoming EP Fragments, the sparse, minimalist arrangements offer little to hide behind but instead highlight a rare quality; Sada’s undeniably poignant and comforting voice.
