Two years ago, the music of Rose Keeler-Schäffeler found its way into my heart. Her soundcloud resembles an almost unconscious stream of recorded ideas, tiny steps towards her inevitable (underground) stardom. I guess its pretty easy to understand why R Stevie Moore is one of her biggest fans: not only is she prolific but her artistry shares the same glorious lo-fi aesthetic.
Don’t Look At Me is her strongest work to date, vocals immersed in jangly beats, with nods to the 60’s girl-pop/Phil Spector era, sonically at least. Keel Her is a compelling, authentic voice with the ability to convey complex emotions into simple euphoric pop structures. What’s not to love?
