This past year has admittedly been difficult… living in a claustrophobic environment has affected my productivity, creativity and overall happiness. I’ve decided to make a positive change and will soon be moving to a new home in Whalley Range. With my life seemingly buried away in a pile of boxes, Manchester duo Mediate have been providing a much needed soundtrack for this stressful time. Released via Star Slinger’s label Jet Jam, Harder is addictive cut of modern house, perfect for repeated listens late at night. Vocalist Suzy Alexander and producer Ant Hickman have been on my radar for a little while now, but this feels like a breakout moment for them. It’s a credit to them that they’ve managed to bring together old school influences and make them feel both reflective and forward thinking.
